Wilson's Plover

The Gulf Coast Joint Venture (GCJV) is composed of a diverse array of partners from federal and state government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private landowners involved in the conservation of bird habitat and populations along the western U.S. Gulf of Mexico coast. Partners recognize the benefits of collaboratively developing a sound biological foundation to assess the status of bird populations and their habitat needs, relating population and habitat objectives to specific geographic regions, and evaluating research needs and effects of management actions.

Partners benefit from the ability to assign limited resources to high priority actions (as defined by the partnership) and collectively leverage and attract funding for habitat and evaluation projects.
